Above: Some of the photographs of recipients.
It is always a pleasure to go to the Willingdon club.
Interesting information:
The Willingdon club was founded in 1918 by Lord Willingdon, the then Governor of Bombay.
Willingdon was refused permission to take an Indian Maharaja with him to the Bombay Gymkhana, Byculla Club and Royal Yacht Club which then allowed only whites and hence decided to start a club that both Indians and Europeans could go to.
On February the 24th I was invited by Mr Narayan Varma to attend to felicitate the following individuals
who were awarded the ‘Padma Bhushan’ / ‘Padmashree’ on January 26, 2012
‘Padma Bhushan’ ‘Padmashree’
* Dr. Suresh H. Advani * Dr. Mukesh Batra
* Dr. Noshir H. wadia * Shri Vanraj Bhatia
* Shri Anup Jalota
* Shri Yezdi Hirji Malegam
All in all a wonderfully inspiring evening...Thankyou Mr Varma
